OPI Testimonials - Yael Dinar, MD
My wife, Patricia had developed double vision and persistent headaches. At the time, Pat was undergoing radiation therapy to treat tumors located on her neck and either side of her throat and the doctors believed that neck tumor could be the reason for her eye symptoms. Pat decided to see her regular eye doctor and was referred to Dr. Dinar.
Dr. Dinar discussed Pat's case with her radiation oncologist and they decided that another MRI of her head was needed even though one had been taken just a week earlier and showed no problem. The second MRI identified that a tumor had also developed inside her brain, carcinosarcoma, and this was causing the double vision and headaches. As a result, the radiation oncologist was then able to design a radiation treatment that he believes will be effective in treating this new tumor.
It should be noted that the first MRI was not able to detect any tumor at that time. Carcinosarcoma is a very aggressive and fast growing cancer. Pat and I are thankful for Dr. Dinar's questioning attitude and persistence toward achieving a proper diagnosis. Pat is about halfway finished with radiation treatments to her head and we are hopeful that they will alleviate her vision problems.
